Savar DOHS is a planned residential society on the north-western edge of Dhaka. Families consider it for wider roads, gated access and a calmer setting than the dense city centre. Before you decide, test the claims against your own daily routine.

Plan the commute honestly

Do the journey you would do every weekday, at the hour you would do it. Check travel time to your workplace, your children's school and your parents' home. Traffic on the Dhaka–Aricha corridor changes sharply by time of day, so a single midday test drive is not enough.

Look at the road, not only the building

Our project sits at Plot 169, Road 09. Walk the road: surface, drainage, lighting, how far the gate is and how deliveries and visitors are handled. Within one society, conditions can differ road to road.

Ask about services and running costs

Ask what the service charge covers: lift, generator, water pump, security, cleaning. Ask how generator fuel is shared and what happens during extended outages. A building with clear answers is usually well managed.

Think about daily needs

List what your household needs within a short distance: groceries, pharmacy, clinic, schools, mosque or other places of worship, banking. Visit them rather than assuming.

Consider the long term

If you may rent the flat out later, think about who your tenants would be. Gated security, backup power and a well-kept building help a unit let faster and hold its value. Our note on why a DOHS address rents faster explains this in more detail.
